This is an awesome newer facility with up to date and high-tech manufacturing technology.Service Maintenance Technicians are primarily responsible for safely improving manufacturing equipment availability. Seeking out and safely avoiding any equipment-related interruptions to manufacturing; responsible for safely and efficiently restoring manufacturing capability when unexpected interruptions or malfunctions occur; and investigating the reason for these unexpected interruptions or malfunctions and taking action to avoid them in the future. Job duties and responsibilities:- The Service Technician serves as the on-duty equipment technical expert to the Manufacturing Manager, and staff team, or other responsible production personnel. When personnel from either Production Manufacturing, Production Engineering or Research & Development need equipment assistance they will call the Service Technician. - The Service Technician carries out tasks in accordance with Safety Charter; Safe Practices; Procedures and Policies, with emphasis on being fit for duty and assuring that no activity takes place that is considered by the incumbent to be unsafe.- Shift time assignments are usually 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotating On-Call extended coverage and Overtime as requested.- At the beginning and end of each shift, the Service Technician will engage in a shift turnover meeting. Being on time is important to facilitate communication during this 'turnover' effort. All log entries shall be up to date before shift turnover. - During the time of the assignment the Service Technician should continuously monitor the performance and know the operational status of the equipment and the plant support systems within the area of responsibility to avoid equipment stoppages, slowdowns, or product loss because of an equipment malfunction.- When unexpected interruptions or safety incidents occur because of equipment malfunctions the Service Technician is responsible for investigating the reason for the interruption. The incumbent can be the lead investigator.- With the reasons for the equipment interruption in hand the Service Technician completes or plans mitigating actions. These actions include but are not limited to initiating hardware or software modification, initiating a periodic maintenance activity, or changing the methods used or the tools applied or the established procedures or operational approaches or some combination of all of these.- The Service Technician is responsible for assuring the timely and proper completion of any scheduled and/or unexpected maintenance work on the assigned shift and in the assigned area no matter who is doing the work.-The Service Technician records or assures that recording occurs for all work done by anyone on or to equipment and plant support systems on the assigned shift and in the assigned area. -The Service Technician reports daily on equipment performance and the reasons for interruption and malfunction and actions taken.Base salary plus overtime, 5% bonus, 401k and benefits, day shift, long history hiring veterans!!
