Description:The Service Manager at Tatsu-Ya will develop and oversee the daily operations of the business unit to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. They will manage and operate the location, in partnership with the General Manager.Core Managerial Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains new employees.
- Oversees management and hourly staff.
- Ability to assist in both the FOH and BOH areas as needed.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Processes discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans and organizes daily activities related to the location operation.
- Assists with implementing strategies from corporate to entice customers.
- Represents Tatsu-Ya as brand ambassador to guests and the community by being accountable to the guest satisfaction and experience and addressing both positive and negative reviews of the location.
- Ensures an outstanding dining experience by maintaining Tatsu-Ya standards with presentation, taste, service, and atmosphere for all guests and staff.
- Determines labor needs to meet location goals.
- Responsible for overall financial strength of location to include sales, food, beverage, labor costs, and controllable cost lines.
- Coordinates with senior leadership to determine the pricing and timing, of promotions
- Oversees daily operations by enforcing company policies and maintaining high standards.
- Adheres to all appropriate health code and local jurisdiction food handling requirements, maintains food safety certifications, and models exemplary food health safety practices to all employees.
- Creates a work environment that promotes employee safety in line with operational standards.
- Coordinates with corporate support departments such as Human Resources, Finance, Training, and Marketing to ensure successful operations.
- Recruits and develops employees according to the company staffing model.
- Continually educates, develops, and coaches employees to retain top talent throughout their Tatsu-Ya employment.
- Oversees employee relations, progressive discipline, employee recognition, and other administrative tasks in partnership with Human Resources.
- Executes all training and standard operating procedures for the location.
- Always promotes a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Ensures accurate recording and submission of payroll.
- Always maintains the restaurant to the highest standard; like-new condition.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Prior managerial or supervisory skills and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of operations and culinary management.
- Ability to interpret financial data, as needed, to set operational goals.
- Ability to assist in both the FOH and BOH areas as needed.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with facilities management by troubleshooting and following the Emergency Management Protocol.
- Create items, menus, nightly reports, and basic day-to-day functions using Toast or other similar software.
- Functions of scheduling and reporting using Restaurant 365 & Hot Schedules or other similar software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing
- Must be able to access and navigate the location
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
