Responsibilities:The Service Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical management of the Service Department. The Service Manager role requires dynamic leadership qualities and communication skills with a proven ability to provide superior customer service and effectively develop and manage a high performing team that produces best in class results. This critical role requires experience in safety management, daily business operations, planning, budgeting, profit and loss management, employee development and achieving total customer satisfaction. A key component of this position is applying continuous improvement methods to solve problems and work with interdepartmental teams to achieve department and company goals.
Job Responsibilities include:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience: 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience required. Technical mechanical background and leadership within a mechanical service department strongly preferred. Experience with strategic planning and people development preferred.
Must have strong leadership capabilities and the ability make and maintain a strong team atmosphere that is solely focused on building the business with quality service. Superior customer relations and problem-solving skills are required for this position. Candidate must have technical background and be capable of communicating with technicians and customers regarding repairs on heavy and medium duty trucks.
Skills: Proven background in providing quality customer service. Excellent communicator (written and verbal), able to lead and motivate others, strong in conflict resolution, must be comfortable with computers. Able to work in fast paced and challenging environment.
Job Conditions
Physical: Extensive keyboard work and viewing computer screen, use of telephone. Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time. Bending, stretching and some heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) may be required on occasion.
Environmental: Primarily indoors with minimal outdoor time. High noise level at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
Hours: Must be available for evenings or weekends on occasion; shift is primarily Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:00 PM.
