Overview:
Under a minimal level of guidance and direction, provides customer service for Paychex Health & Benefit clients. Ensures good customer relations are maintained and customer claims and complaints are resolved fairly, effectively and in accordance with Paychex policies and procedures. Proactively educates and informs clients, and initiates improvements based on client feedback. Has in-depth knowledge of at least one Paychex product. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a liaison and partners with H&B inside and field sales reps concerning newly incoming clients to the Paychex Insurance Agency.
- Supports a high volume of on boarding transactions, incoming cases and client support.
- Acts as primary contact for clients during the onboarding process and reviews timelines of installation with clients.
- Develops and maintains a high degree of insurance and Paychex/Paychex Insurance Agency knowledge to ensure client satisfaction. Knowledge to include COBRA, payroll deductions/connection, insurance/policy design and carrier navigation.
- Follows up with clients on missing information and track all other necessary documentation to ensure all appropriate documentation is gathered and to successfully setup a client on Paychex Insurance Agency services.
- Receives inbound data / communications and initiates outbound communication of service and insurance inquiries in order to ensure that all parties are kept up to date and processes are being maintained.
- Meets and/or exceeds established productivity and quality standards.
- Provides insurance quotes for newly on-boarded clients undergoing renewal.
- Answers client questions regarding insurance plan design, setup process, ongoing service model and Paychex processes.
- Works with insurance carriers to ensure timely processing of new insurance plans, or agent of record changes.
- Evaluates daily processes and procedures and suggests improvements to increase client satisfaction and efficiency.
- Life, Accident and Health must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
- 3 years of experience in Insurance industry or Customer Service experience.
- Demonstrates customer service skills.

- This role requires you to be eligible for applicable insurance licensing in all 50 states, which may involve an enhanced background check. If you are not currently licensed, you will be required to obtain the necessary insurance license(s) within 90 calendar days of your official start date. Failure to obtain the required license(s) within 90 days of your start date and to maintain eligibility throughout the duration of your employment may result in corrective action, up to and including termination of employment. Paychex Insurance Agency, Inc. (PIA) will cover the cost of up to two (2) attempts to pass a state insurance licensing exam including exam materials and testing fee. The cost of any additional attempts will be at the expense of the individual employee. If an individual is hired by PIA with an active and current license(s), that employee will be responsible for the timely updating and/or verifying of any changes that may have occurred with their state license(s) prior to their start date at PIA. This includes any state of residence changes, e-mail changes, mailing address changes or name changes.
Compensation: In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $20.23-$28.90/hr . Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
