Position Purpose: The Merchandiser is responsible for pricing and setting customer's stores. The Merchandiser reports directly to the Merchandising Manager overseeing the geographical area they service. A Merchandiser may be either permanent in the position, or a temporary Sales Trainee assigned to the department as part of his/her ongoing sales training program/schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
The role of the Sr. Merchandiser is to execute retail-level selling strategies, implement promotions, and execute customer & Core-Mark growth business plans. Duties include inventory management, new/innovation item introductions, pricing analysis, stock evaluations, developing customer management relationships, over-seeing and implementing Food Service Programs and providing customer support in order to achieve annual selling goals. The Sr. Merchandiser acts as an extension of the customer's business. This role will work closely with the Account Executive position to ensure business objectives and strategies are aligned with store-level results. The Sr. Merchandiser role will work closely with customer price-book/back office teams to monitor pricing strategies, provide astute market trend observations and successfully implement Core-Mark Programs for business growth.
