Wayne, IN. This is a key role leading the day-to-day execution of a rapidly growing portable sanitation company that takes pride in doing things the right way and executing the impossible. Owned by Marine Corps veterans, we have a dynamic team of technicians, operations and maintenance staff that hold the highest standard of performance, integrity, and customer service, without compare. We are driven by purpose, with a vision to grow in a meaningful way that allows us to continue to impact our community of veterans and their families. We work for that vision every day and we are looking to add this critical role to the team with someone who is ready to perform at a high level on Day 1.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Long distance driving
- Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
- Complying with truck driving rules and regulations
- Reporting defects, accidents, and violations
- Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
- Loading and unloading box trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner
- Recording cargo deliveries
- Verifying loads for accuracy
- Clean and service rental equipment
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, to be familiar with not just traffic laws but rules regarding how often they are required to rest, maximum miles driven and the like.
- Physical fitness since Truck Drivers are required to pass a physical exam every two years.
- Hand-eye coordination, since they must coordinate their hands, legs, and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time on the roads.
- Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers must hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
- A clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
- Adherence to a background check.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States of America. Some of the job secured work sites that we support require U.S. American citizenship and a clean criminal history in order to access their sites.
- Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are the representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; move fingers and hands, ability to stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch.
