Job Description:
American Implement is seeking a Equipment Service Technicianfor our dealership in Hugoton, Kansas.We are actively seeking a skilled, dedicated, and motivated Ag Diesel Technician with a passion for the agricultural industry. This position must be able to efficiently troubleshoot, diagnose and repair various systems of equipment to keep producers up and running to their full potential. A great candidate is an individual who likes to problem-solve, is a continuous learner with a dedicated work ethic and can present themselves in a professional, courteous and positive manner. Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a clean motor vehicle record. EOE.COMPENSATION:
  • This is a full-time position with 45+ hours/week.
  • Base hourly wage ranges between $16-$40+ depending on experience.
  • Plus eligible for overtime and commission.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Accurately participate and complete work orders and timecard entries.
  • Prepare any reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Display good knowledge of basic mechanical systems and develop skills in disassembly and assembly and in repair of components, with some supervision.
  • Perform basic testing on all machine systems and display the ability to diagnose and repair accurately, with some supervision.
  • Participate in training programs, schooling and in-house training as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Report to the Service Manager/Shop Foreman any additional work required on machines to ensure proper and safe operation.
  • Pre-deliver new equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Acquire necessary tools for enhancing work performance and submit a complete inventory of personal tools to the company.
  • Access and effectively use common resources such as technical manuals, PMPro, Service Advisor, DealerPath and JDIS.
  • Accommodate seasonal schedule requirements.
  • Obtain approval from Service Manager/Shop Foreman prior to submission of all CCMS cases..
  • Accept direction and instruction from qualified sources, as identified by the Service Manager.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, maintain a clean safety record.
  • Maintain and care for Department tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Accommodate seasonal schedule requirements.
  • Provide professional and courteous service and present a positive and professional image of the company towards fellow employees and customers.
  • Enhance customer service through good verbal and written communications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One to three years' experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate of completion from a mechanical or industrial arts training, vocational school, or equivalent experience (1-4 years of service repair).
  • Score a minimum 60% on AI Competency Test.
  • Completed Technical Foundations JDU Learning Path.
  • Must have appropriate set of tools and acquire additional tools as needed for performing tasks, as determined by Service Manager/Shop Foreman.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, must be able to regularly lift 75 lbs. without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, and seeing. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
