Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Shop Foreman, the Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines.Supervises: N/AEssential Job Functions:
- Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems.
- Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor instructions.
- Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
- Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy required.
- Tags all parts required to follow warranty procedure.
- Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
- Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
- Follows safety procedures.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Preferred Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Technical training education
Preferred Experience:
- One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL License
- ASE certification a plus
- Freightliner certification
