Job Title: Service Worker

Reports To: Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor

FLSA: Hourly/Non-Exempt (Class I)

Hours: 1830-2230 (Mon-Fri), 1830-2030 (Sat)

$20.70/hour

Nature and Scope of Position

The Service Worker is responsible for the cleaning and fueling of all district vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

The following is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the Service Worker position, but rather a general description of some of the essential functions of this position.

  • Report to work on time and in proper uniform as determined by the District
  • Safely operate all tools and machinery required to perform work duties
  • Maintain a strong attendance record
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain a good rapport with the general public and all employees.
  • Detailed cleaning of all district vehicles
  • Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures.
  • Special projects related to cleaning vehicles
  • Report safety and personnel problems to Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner
  • Maintain proper cleaning supply inventory at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Relationships

The Service Worker is directly supervised by the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor.

Working Conditions

Varied Environment – This position will be subject to occasional heavy lifting, bending, stooping, standing, high noise levels, and vehicle fumes. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to work on snow and ice-covered ground.

Requirements:

Knowledge/Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Must have a valid driver's license

Successful candidates for this position will have or be willing to gain experience in vehicle cleaning and detailing. The ideal candidate will have one or more years of experience cleaning/detailing vehicles as well as one or more years in a lead/supervisory role.

Skills/Abilities

The Service Worker should have the following skills/abilities, among others:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
  • Must be willing to work on Saturdays.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Assimilate information quickly and accurately.
  • Travel as needed to conduct district business.
  • Must have a working vehicle to travel within the service area.
