Description Role Overview: The ServiceNow Architect will be instrumental in designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions that align with business needs and drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have over 15+ years of experience in IT service management and a deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture and best practices.
Key Responsibilities: - Solution Architecture & Design:
- Lead the design and architecture of ServiceNow solutions, ensuring that all technical components meet business requirements.
- Define and maintain platform standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance ServiceNow implementations.
- Architect solutions across multiple modules (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, etc.) and custom applications using App Engine.
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership to development teams, offering guidance on platform capabilities, custom development, and integrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architecture.
- Review and approve detailed designs and configuration documents to ensure alignment with architectural vision.
- Platform Strategy & Roadmap:
- Define the platform strategy and architectural roadmap in collaboration with business leaders and other IT teams.
- Lead ServiceNow upgrade planning, ensuring compatibility and leveraging new features and functionalities.
- Work with leadership to identify opportunities to expand the ServiceNow footprint within the organization and deliver ongoing platform enhancements.
- Custom Development & Integrations:
- Oversee the development of custom applications, workflows, and integrations with third-party systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, SAP, Salesforce).
- Ensure best practices in custom scripting (Glide, JavaScript, etc.), API development, and ServiceNow integration hub.
- Lead design sessions for creating new integrations and automation using Flow Designer, Orchestration, and other ServiceNow capabilities.
- Governance & Compliance:
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks and ensure solutions comply with security and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular architectural reviews, platform audits, and health checks to maintain platform integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, scalability, and security of the platform.
- Mentorship & Team Leadership:
- Mentor and coach junior developers, administrators, and technical consultants to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Lead by example in promoting ServiceNow best practices, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, and easy to maintain.
- Guide cross-functional teams through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment.
Qualifications: - Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years of hands-on experience working with the ServiceNow platform.
- Proven experience as a ServiceNow Architect, delivering large-scale ServiceNow implementations across multiple modules.
- Expertise in ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and custom application development using the App Engine.
- Skills:
- Deep knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, data models, security, and best practices.
- Proficient in designing complex workflows, business rules, client scripts, and integrations using ServiceNow scripting (Glide, JavaScript, AngularJS).
- Experience with ServiceNow integrations via REST/SOAP APIs and other integration tools (Integration Hub, Orchestration).
- Familiarity with ServiceNow's CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping capabilities.
- Ability to work with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as Jira.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD) are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with ITIL, DevOps, and cloud-based platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Now Experience Framework, UI Builder, and custom component development.
- Familiarity with other enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle) is a plus point and their integration with ServiceNow.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
