Job Description: Senior ServiceNow Platform Developer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ServiceNow Platform Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform. In this role, you will focus on platform-wide optimizations, creating custom applications, and enabling seamless integrations with enterprise systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in ServiceNow development, architecture, and best practices, coupled with a deep understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and related modules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Development and Optimization:
    • Design, develop, and implement custom solutions and enhancements across the ServiceNow platform.
    • Create and maintain reusable components, frameworks, and tools to standardize development practices.
    • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance by implementing best practices and tuning configurations.
  • Custom Applications and Modules:
    • Lead the development of enterprise-grade custom applications using ServiceNow's App Engine.
    • Extend out-of-the-box modules to meet business-specific requirements while maintaining upgrade compatibility.
    • Build and deploy advanced workflows, business rules, UI policies, and client scripts.
  • Integration and Automation:
    • Design and implement integrations with third-party systems using APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), and middleware tools.
    • Develop and deploy automation solutions using ServiceNow workflows, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
    • Ensure data integrity and security in integrations with external systems.
  • Governance and Best Practices:
    • Establish development standards, coding guidelines, and governance frameworks for the platform.
    • Maintain a strong focus on ServiceNow instance security, data governance, and compliance.
    • Stay current with ServiceNow releases and ensure the organization leverages the latest features effectively.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with architects, administrators, and business stakeholders to define platform requirements and strategies.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering technical growth within the team.
    • Lead code reviews and promote knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Resolve complex issues related to platform performance, custom applications, or integrations.
    • Monitor system health and proactively identify areas for improvement.

    Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive experience with ServiceNow development, including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and custom applications.
    • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
    • Strong understanding of data structures, CMDB, and ITIL-based processes.
    • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow App Engine, UI/UX customization, and advanced reporting.
    • Expertise in integration design using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools.
  • Experience and Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and platform management.
    • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with ServiceNow's ITBM, SecOps, or GRC modules.
    • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow development.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their integration with ServiceNow.
    • ITIL certifications or strong familiarity with ITIL processes.
