This position is responsible for setting up extrusion lines to produce TW/HW products to the highest quality and maximum production standards for line efficiency, material usage and equipment utilization. Pay Rate:The pay rate for this job is $23 - $23 / hour This range is a goodfaith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.What you'll be doing as a Set Up Technician:
  • Responsible for setting up all extrusion lines per production plans/orders.
  • Sets up extrusion lines/changeovers, or specific areas on machines such as: drilling station, coiler, inserter, mandrel,
  • Die, etc., based on quality specifications to move the line into production.
  • Diagnose process problems, tests, and coordinates the appropriate adjustments within a timely manner to
  • Reduce production downtime.
  • Reports production delays and/or mechanical issues to production and QA Manager during the setup, verbally and in
  • Written form.
  • Reviews product quality when starting a new line startup to ensure production meets all QC specifications.
  • Provides support to manufacturing, during the regularly scheduled shift and through on call availability.
  • Trains production personnel on setup/technical processes.
  • Maintains a list of all tooling and setup sheets.
  • Makes recommendations to improve production processes and improve equipment.
  • Is responsible for improving production metrics as led by the QA Manager.
  • Understand production delays and/or mechanical issues to analyze causes and reduce downtime.
  • Develops technical specifications for new product development.
  • Conducts new product and material testing directly on the extrusion lines, reporting data to the QA Manager.
  • Uses mechanical aptitude to coordinate maintenance and repair; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, other specialized electrical equipment, and material handling equipment in Performing duties.
  • Performs scheduled and regular preventative maintenance repairs on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Maintains company required performance and maintenance records for production equipment.
  • Starts up, and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine -3- Requirements.
  • Participates in the selection and installation of new equipment for CAPEX or maintenance efficiency initiatives.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and leads by example.
  • Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as directed by management.
  • Consistently complies with all state and federal regulations while performing job duties and representing the company.
  • Maintains a professional hygiene and appearance to promote a positive image of the company, a
  • professional example to staff, and instill customer trust.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as directed by reporting manager.
  • Physical requirement- able to lift 60lbs during line changeover

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) Preferred.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma and 3 years extrusion/technical experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Associate's Degree in a related technical field preferred
  • Min. 3 - 5 years of extrusion production with strong maintenance proficiency
  • Lean Principles and 5S experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills resulting in improved solutions and efficiencies
  • Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude including, machine repair and electrical skills
  • Proficient Computer competence (Microsoft Office or equivalent)
  • Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written English
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Self - Starter with proven results
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Solid decision-making skills in accordance to best maintenance practices
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing operation with ability to promote a team environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and an aptitude for detailed work requiring high accuracy
  • Must have good PC skills, including Microsoft office software knowledge
