The VISTA Will support Seven Hills Neighborhood houses mission by ensuring that West End homeowners and renters remain in their homes in a time of gentrification and rising taxes through the Home Improvement and Rental support program. The Seven Hills Neighborhood House, Community Development Corporation works to assist with the creation and stabilizing of low-income housing, securing economic development opportunities, producing community engagement efforts and resident advocacy, and strengthening. The VISTA will play a key role in the organization of these engagement efforts as well as in the marketing and communication of these efforts to the West End community. Member Duties : The duties of the AmeriCorps VISTA member position are to support the mission of Neighborhood House by working to identify resources, plan events, create communications and educational opportunities that will benefit households with living in affordable housing. The VISTA member will create sustainable partnerships with community and public entities to provide ongoing educational workshops, communications, and events for residents in affordable housing, specifically the West End Community to empower residents to improve the conditions of their lives. Support to the home improvement and rental assistance program is crucial as our community faces threats of gentrification.
