Key Responsibilities - The Sheet Metal Journey man will assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution.
- Install duct, accessories and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprints and specifications.
- Proper and safe use of hand tools and portable power tools.
- May be required to work with Sheet Metal Helpers and Apprentices to provide training, oversight and instruction to ensure teammates are performing tasks safely, per SMACNA and project specifications.
- Must be able to take direction, be accepting to change and strive for continuous improvement.
Qualifications - Minimum of four (4) years working in the field and/or sheet metal shop.
- Comprehension of SMACNA standards.
- GED or High School Graduate Preferred.
- Understand how to measure ducts for fabrication, make field modifications and install ducts by Shop Blueprints.
- Work skillfully with tools, metals and machines.
- Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
- Understand English follow and provide directives to assigned helpers.
- Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
- Drug test, background check and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
