The Shelter Case and Placement Manager will work with families in various shelter settings to secure safe housing as quickly as possible using a strength-based, person-centered approach. The responsibilities include:
- Assessing families' basic needs and providing support.
- Empowering families in their housing search and guiding them through the housing market.
- Developing rehousing plans and housing strategies with families to help them exit the shelter within 9 months.
- Entering data into databases, collecting and managing necessary documentation.
- Conducting weekly meetings and home visits, and accompanying families to housing appointments.
- Providing interventions and referrals for additional resources.
- Ensuring compliance with state and shelter policies, conducting weekly shelter inspections, and networking with community agencies.
What You'll Bring to the TeamWe're looking for someone who's not just qualified but driven. Someone who's excited about making a difference in the lives of children and their families.
- Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Ability to speak/write in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a registered and insured reliable vehicle required; must be willing and able to travel to local meetings.
You'll Stand Out If:
- You have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience entering data into ETO or Apricot.
- You have knowledge of community resources and agencies that will assist families with long-term goals and stability.
- You are organized and have the ability to communicate with empathy and clarity.
