HOURS & SALARY: Minimum of three hours per month, with a starting salary of $13.48 an hour. Laramie County Library System is looking for motivated individuals to be Substitute Shelvers. This position works a variable schedule including evenings and weekends, sometimes on short notice, on an as-needed basis, with a minimum of three hours monthly. The primary role of this position is to shelve, organize, and inspect library materials. Substitute Shelvers participate in closing procedures, check in materials, and may work in the Sort Room. Come join us!JOB SUMMARYThe Substitute Shelver works a variable schedule including evenings and weekends, sometimes on short notice, on an as-needed basis. Substitute Shelvers shelve, organize, and inspect library materials as assigned. This position participates in closing procedures, checks in materials, and may work in the Sort Room. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Maintains patron confidentiality in compliance with Wyoming state law.2. Shelves library materials, clears reshelving shelves ( red shelves ), straightens shelves, and reads shelves to ensure library materials are in accurate alpha/numeric order.3. Ensures that damaged and worn items are not shelved.4. If trained on the library sort system, the Substitute Shelvera. Monitors item returns, checks in items using the sort system, and puts items on carts in alpha/numeric order for shelving.b. Troubleshoots computers and sort system. Follows proper protocol in reporting issues with sort system to Information Technology Services and Facilities.5. Completes duties at closing according to the closing checklist.6. Notifies Circulation & Branch Services Assistant Manager/Readers' Advisory Librarian about issues in shelving.7.
