Job Description:

As one of the largest used cooking oil refineries in the US, we are committed to protecting our environment and keeping our employees safe while supplying the petroleum industry with the highest quality feedstock for biodiesel and renewable diesel manufacturing. Our safety commitment is demonstrated in many ways such as annual safety trainings and safety presentations done weekly/monthly/quarterly. 99% of our raw materials are utilized. By-products and co-products are recycled, repurposed or re-processed. Only 1% reaches a landfill! Wastewater treated and repurposed as organic fertilizer used on our own farm. Current project to refine biogas from our wastewater treatment to supply up to 75% of our facility's natural gas demand. The Shift Lead leads their direct reports, of Production Technicians, in processing activities to meet daily processing plan requirements as planned by the Production Leader. The shift lead also directs sanitation efforts to keep equipment, plant and grounds in presentable conditions and is responsible for identifying and relaying production and maintenance issues to the Production Leader. We are looking for a Shift Lead for 2nd Shift to help with executing production schedules at our Mendota location. The shift lead will uphold all required safety and quality standards while leading and training hourly employees per our standard operating procedures. This position is a full-time 40+ hours per week with weekends as required. Starting hourly rate between $24.75-$25.75 Primary Duties:

  • Ensure assigned employees adhere to procedures in MAP Employee handbook and Production Techniques per SOPs in Melt Plant Process Manual.
  • Practice and enforce proper safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Timely Communication of unsafe work practices, conditions or production issues to upper management.
  • Implement training for all production techs on proper safety and processing procedure.
  • review and evaluate employee skills, trainings and performance.
  • Formulate load blends per sales specifications.
  • Administrative duties including reviewing timecards and vacation requests, daily inventory reports, tank production plan, shuttle and tank schedules.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure direct reports are current on safety trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong leadership, decision making, problem solving, time management and communication skills.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands, kneel, climb ladders and squat for extended period as well as able to lift 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 35 ft, confined spaces and adverse temperature and weather conditions.
