**About the Position**
The Shift Lead position is a critical member of the Jacks Stir Brew Coffee experience and a junior member of a store's management team.
Shift Leads provide managerial supervision when the Store Manager is not on premises. They are able to run their assigned station (i.e. Barista, Cashier, Food) while being entrusted with critical responsibilities necessary for the proper operation of our stores .
**Essential Functions**
Guest Experience:
* Greet all guestswith a smile and provide friendly, efficient service
* Create a rapport with guests by learning their names and favorite products
* Educate guests and provide information on all food, beverage and marketplace products
* Operate and run their assigned store station (Cashier, Bar Back, Barista or Food Prep)
* Review and approve refunds, voids, discounts and comps
* Resolve guest complaints and guest services issues
* Conduct daily store walkthroughs to assure a clean and orderly front of house
* Help maintain consistent high product standards & brand experience
Store Operations
* Open their assigned store and work with the opening team to prepare the store for daily operation
* Supervise the closing of their assigned stores so that its properly cleaned and set up for the following days operation
* Supervise & verify Cashiers cash register operations, including: transaction reviews, opening / shift change / closing cash counts and register balancing.
* Prepare bank deposits and make bank deposit runs.
* Conduct daily store walkthroughs to assure clean and orderly operation of all store stations and sections.
* Communicate with team members and management to solve problems, improve service quality and store processes.

* Other duties & side work as assigned
**Education & Experience**
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
**Qualifications**
* Previous experience operating a POS terminal, processing a variety of customer facing and store specific transaction
* Previous experience maintaining/balancing cash drawer during shift changes
* Demonstrated customer service & interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to keep calms and effectively communicate during high-pressure and transaction heavy time periods situations.
* Strong attention to detail and healthy respect for cleanliness and sanitation
* Open to criticism and constantly striving to improve
* Ability and willingness to perform light housekeeping duties and additional side work
* Be extremely reliable and be able to pass a criminal background check. (You have the keys to our stores).
**Time & Physical Demands**
* Availability to work a minimum of 5 shifts per week (24 - 30 hours)
* Availability and willingness to work early mornings and/or on weekends
* Ability to stand for en extended period of time and move about the caf
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
* Use of hands ability operate POS terminal and caf machinery
* Talk/hear frequently communicates with customers & staff
**Work Environment**
* Work is performed in a dynamic, high volume caf setting
* The work environment can be noisy during peak hours
