This job contributes to Corner Counter and Harrah's Southern California success by assisting the Store Manager in executing store operations during schedule shift. This job deploys team members and delegates tasks so that team members can maintain a clean and healthy environment for all guests. The Shift Leader is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Corner Counter Guiding principles and Harrah's Southern California Mission, Vision and Values and Policy and Procedures. Our ideal candidate: •Two-years previous experience in a leadership position is required. •Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. •Available to work flexible hours that may include early morning, weekends, overnight and or holidays. •Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security. •Comply with coaching and model dress code. •Delegate task to other employees and or coordinating the task of two or more employees. •Effective oral communications and interpersonal skills •Ability to work as a part of a team and build relationships. •Ability to multitask. •Must be able to work any assigned shift to include weekends and holidays. •Must be able to work in other food service outlets, if needed. •Must have basic computer knowledge (Windows, Excel, and Outlook) About the role: •Acts with Integrity, Honesty and Knowledge that promote the Family-Style Service culture, mission, vision, and values of Corner Counter and Harrah's Southern California. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standards and to set a positive example for the shift team. •Communicates information to Supervisor/ Manager so that the team can respond as necessary. •Delivers exceptional guest service and anticipating guests' needs by reviewing inventory, looking at daily sales, listening to team members and guests. •Assists with new team members training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Provides feedback to Store Manager on partner performance during shift. •Maintain efficiency of the line, waiting time per order, and workload based on business demands and brand standards. •Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to team member's performance. •Ensures employees work safely minimizing work related injuries. •Performs administrative duties including, ordering items, and adjusting schedule to business needs. •Executes store operations during scheduled shift. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned. •Responsible to ensure the entire store area is clean, organized, and well stocked during the entirety of their shift. •Ensures the cashier attendant maintains cash register balances and accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment. •Addresses exception notices in a timely manner. •Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. •Perform any additional functions as assigned by Management. A few more things: •Must be able to work inside and maneuver throughout assigned station during entire shift. •Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds and bend, pull and carry stock to refrigerator and cabinets. •Must be able to use hand motion when cleaning and wiping counters. •Must possess the manual dexterity to complete required side work . •Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues. •Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. •Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. Depending on experience, pay starts at $19.00 per hour plus tips. The above is a minimal description of duties and responsibilities.
