Since 1996, Wineguys Restaurant Group has developed four distinct dining destinations in downtown Petoskey: City Park Grill, Palette Bistro, and Roast & Toast Cafe. Wineguys Restaurant Group recently welcomed a fourth dining destination, Jax Northside in Charlevoix (summer 2023). Through these successful ventures, the group expanded their enterprise to include Wineguys Catering.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to be a shift lead for our Petoskey, MI location. The ideal candidate will have at least 1+ years of management experience in a restaurant setting. Understanding of culinary, kitchen, and restaurant operations is essential. The shift lead will report to the managers and support all aspects of the restaurant as needed. Must be willing to work days/nights/weekends and holidays as needed. Wineguys offers in-depth training and room to advance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, including managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Train and supervise employees on proper food handling, safety procedures, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food preparation and delivery.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manage shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and expenses.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role is required.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and culinary techniques.
  • Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and cash handling.
  • Accounting experience is a PLUS.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, employees, and vendors.

Job Type: Full-time
