Spark Balance is a short-term residential treatment program tailored for adolescents with a focus on neurodiversity. Our students grapple with challenges stemming from high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar diagnoses.We are currently in search of vibrant and dedicated life coaches to enrich our team! As a life coach at Spark Balance, you'll engage with a diverse cohort of teenagers, guiding them in exploring their interests and maximizing their potential. You'll collaborate closely with them, either individually or in small groups, participating in various activities aimed at fostering life skills, goal setting, and nurturing confidence and resilience.Situated within The Heritage Community, based in Provo, UT, Spark Balance operates under the umbrella of a well-established non-profit 501(c)(3) treatment program. The Heritage Community has been serving its community since its inception in 1984.So, if you're eager to contribute to a team of dedicated professionals committed to the success of teenagers, seize the opportunity and apply now to become a life coach at Spark Balance!Knowledge and Abilities:Aptitude of adolescent development.Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents.Basic understanding and competency of complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, attachment disorders, etc. Must also show assertiveness to improve knowledge and competency for efficient job performance.Management and leadership skills - using passion and vision to teach and steward both students and employees.Excellence in innovation and executing plans, knowing how to be attuned to the people and business you serve to weave culture and results.Good energy, with ability to work in all weather conditions.Engaging and empathetic character, with the balance of tenacity and determination.Proficient in communication and interpersonal-relationship skills, with basic computer skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with the students on your home, coaching them in their treatment progression.Implement clinical treatment plans as outlined by the Treatment Team, and assure team members also understand expectations.Serve as an assistant to the Home Manager for leadership duties. This includes, but is not limited to, managing and training staff, handling operational components of assigned shift, assuring Elevate Academy program components are consistent, and that treatment care objectives are applied in a true, high-quality manner.Consistently touch base with team members, for performance tracking and development.Reliably intercede and successfully mediate any conflicts at hand, or any time a student needs further support and guidance.Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings, coming prepared to report on the therapeutic progression of the students. Work collaboratively with clinical Therapists and other Treatment Team members to develop strategic goals and objectives for each student that will guide them forward in their healing.Participate in a wide variety of activities with the students, encouraging and supporting them to develop the skills associated with the tasks (i.e., sports, bike riding, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, etc.).Qualifications:Minimum 6-months' relevant experience working in residential treatment required.Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply.Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.Benefits:Competitive compensation with potential pay increases every three months.Comprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life.Health Savings Account options.Short-term and long-term disability coverage.401(k) retirement savings plan after one-year of continuous employment, with the company matching up to 4% of contributions.VTO and PTO, with hours accruing upon hire.Internship credit.Sundance Mountain Resort corporate passes.Provo Recreation Center membership discount.*Employment hinges upon completing onboarding with all necessary documents and wholehearted cooperation.
