Job Description SummaryThe Services Components Operation (SCO) Supervisor leads a team responsible for the manufacturing of components for commercial nuclear power plants. In partnership with GE Hitachi – Nuclear's safety, quality and technical teams, you will provide leadership for SCO's hourly workforce. You will be responsible for team safety, procedure compliance, product quality, manufacturing efficiency and positive team member engagement.Job DescriptionSupervisor responsible for the safe operation of the Services Components Operations (SCO) production team, ensuring components are fabricated on time, in accordance with quality requirements, and within budget. Product areas include control rods and service components product lines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Function as the front-line leader and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel. Currently, there are up to 30 team members, including Engineering Support Operator(s), machinists, welders and production support.Select, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel.Assure operation planning - provides direction to support needs of production area, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, training, time and attendance etc.Ensure team members are provided adequate training, resources and support to assure safe and compliant manufacturing practices in a nuclear regulated environment.Be responsible for meeting the shift's the production teams' strict EHS requirements, product quality standards and production schedule commitments.Enforce a strong EHS compliance culture with emphasis on employee involvement. Ensure work tasks are performed in accordance with industry standards.Lead a strong quality culture compliant to the Quality Management System. Support quality requirements, including ASME code certification program.Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing. Focus team on constantly seeking opportunity for improvement. High-level utilization of Lean Manufacturing principles to facilitate design and implementation of continuous improvement of processes with the team.Proficiently utilize a variety of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook are most common) applications daily for data tracking, reporting, etcWork with manufacturing engineering, support functions and manufacturing leadership to provide technical, quality and production leadership. Identify, effectively communicate, and own to resolution issues that may arise.Communicate business goals, programs, and processes to team.Promote team engagement and ownership. Champion positive employee relations. Foster employee engagement and recognition.Develop and support the growth of all team employeesServe on the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), and assure performance of emergency protocols for SCO product lines. Qualify as building manager after adequate training period.Other relevant duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus one (2) year of leadership experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.OR Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus three (4) years of leadership or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus five (7) years of experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership position.Desired QualificationsBS/BA in a technical fieldSupervisory or managerial experienceMachine or fabrication shop experienceProven ability to create real and positive change.Proven facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to both resolve daily urgent issues at the same time as working on continuous improvement projects.Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlinesSix Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification. Practical experience with identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes based on Lean. Experience in training and positively influencing teams of workers during implementation of Lean changes.GE Program graduate, e.g., OMLP, EEDP (GE employees only).Eligibility Requirements:Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day. Ability to move around and under manufacturing equipment.
