The Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for an off-shift Shift Supervisor to support the production of materials and solutions for commercial aircraft, based in their NW Grand Rapids MI area manufacturing facility.

** This client is specifically seeking candidates with at least 4 years of US Military Leadership experience **
At least 3 years of Exceptional Leadership skills are a must-have. Must possess a fluid, inclusive-style of leadership (empathetic, affirming, problem-solving.)
Shift
- not rotating. Off shift only. These are the options: M-F, 2nd (6p-6a.) M-F, 3rd (10p-10a). Weekends 3/12s off shift. (F, Sat, Sun - or - Sat, Sun, Mon working 6p-6a or 10p to 10a). Can state preference.
Compensation
- $80K OTE($70-75K base + 5% targeted bonus)
What You Will Do:
Will direct and motivate the manufacturing work force to produce products of high quality in an efficient and safe manner; ensure that scheduling meets business and customer needs.
- Schedule production and work teams.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve operations, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Prepare and conduct performance appraisals as appropriate, managing staffing levels (including vacations, overtime, and leaves of absences); assist with career development (motivate, coach, and train to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation).
- Confer with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Direct training and orientation of employees to ensure EHS rules are known and understood, to improve work performance, and acquaint employees with company policies and procedures.
- Provide training and mentoring to new Supervisors.
- Maintain compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. Interface between management and union officials. Handle grievances, as required.
Education and Work Experience:
Must have experience with scheduling, attendance, performance evals, KPIs, Metrics. Degree preferred, but not required. 3+ years of exceptional leadership skills required; must have a fluid inclusive leadership style that is not rigid (Empathetic, problem-solving, affirming) and the ability to coach and motivate teams of 20-30 workers
