We create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society's needs - today and in the future.About the jobThe Production Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day safe and efficient operation of the Sodium Chlorate Manufacturing Process.In your future role as a Shift Supervisor, you will be:* Responsible for Day-to-day operations of the Sodium Chlorate manufacturing process in accordance with site objectives, procedures, and requirements of regulatory and certifying agencies regarding Safety, Security, Health, Environmental, Quality, Efficiency, and Costs. (Regulatory and certifying agencies include OSHA, EPA, MDEQ, FDA, ISO, DOT, NSF, OU)* Facilitation of start of shift and end of shift team meetings covering key objectives,* Overall operational discipline on shift including operating procedure execution, checklist completion, sampling, leak and housekeeping rounds, etc.* Training and development, and certification recommendation of direct report operating personnel.* Fair and consistent administration of company policies, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement as applicable to the work environment.* Routine assessment of the operating unit to ensure proper prioritization of maintenance work.* Problem-solving, decision making, and communication of plant activities to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient operation.* Procedure and process confirmation activities.* Maintain a high level of field presence ensuring the direct report operations team is well supported for work prioritization, troubleshooting, technical support, etc.* Unit preparation for maintenance activities per the published schedule including equipment shutdowns, lock out, tag out, try out execution, and permit to work execution including quality control of the issuing operator's work.* Oversight of the hydrogen peroxide (HP) and logistics areas during night and weekend shifts.We believe you bring* High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years post-secondary/military education (technical area preferred); or three (3) or more years' experience in the Chemical Industry preferred.* Ability to read, analyze, interpret and respond to technical data associated with the plant operation.* Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, decimals, and percentages and to apply the results to plant operations. Must be able to work with metric system measurements and conversions.* Ability to solve practical and operational problems in the plant environment is crucial.* Ability to interpret sample results and take appropriate responsive actions.* Ability to interpret and accurately implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.* Ability to work with Computer Controlled Plant Operations is required.We offer youA place to grow your career and learn more.
