Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):
Supervisory responsibility of shift personnel working in Research Melting operations - monitors daily operations of the unit and actively assists, or provides direction to subordinates as required.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring safety training, PPE and safe work practices. Achieve and maintain superior safety and housekeeping performance.
Monitor rotation/team performance. Set expectations and objectives for team.
Provide daily support and technical assistance for immediate process and operational issues.
Monitor and track training of shift personnel.
Enforce adherence to policies and procedures.
Meet the requirements of the experiments in progress to ensure customer satisfaction.
Be the center of knowledge for all happenings on the shift.
Minimum Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Rotating shift schedule (24/7 coverage)

Basic computer skills
Education and Experience:
4 year degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
Or 5 years of experience supervisory or relevant technical experience
Desired Skills:
Previous supervisory experience
Fundamental knowledge of melting and forming
5S training
Basic electrical knowledge
Knowledge of material science engineering
