Allied Universal is hiring a Shift Supervisor. The general purpose and function of the Shift Supervisor encompasses the professional operation, administration, profitability, and quality assurance of uniformed services for a single shift at an Allied Universal. clients site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A security shift supervisor is a key member of the security supervisory team, responsible for the safety and security of people, property, and exhibits. They may also provide training and guidance to security staff. Here are some responsibilities of a security shift supervisor:
  • Manage security personnel This includes assigning tasks, delegating duties, and monitoring performance.
  • Conduct briefings
  • Security shift supervisors may hold daily briefings with their team.
  • Respond to incidents They may be responsible for responding to security incidents and notifying the proper authorities and clients.
  • Monitor systems They may monitor security systems and CCTV, and perform regular patrols to identify potential breaches.
  • Ensure post orders are followed They may ensure that security officers and other personnel follow post orders and complete established rounds.
  • File reports They may be responsible for filing required reports.
  • Train security staff They may interview, hire, and train security staff, including new hires and current staff. Training may cover workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and other safety and security topics.
  • Keep records They may keep daily records of security-related incidents that occur at their place of employment

  • Oversee that all aspects of the security function on-shift are performed In a diligent manner (staffing, scheduling, and on-site training)
  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met
  • Maintain overtime to a minimal or preset requirement
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and their job performance when assigned to his/her shift
  • Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision
  • Respond to client requests
  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Provide direction and instruction to subordinates in regard to the performance of their duties
  • Disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders
  • Make recommendations concerning disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Valid Driver's License - AU Driver Policy RequirementsWalk/Stand for Long Periods of TimeWork Outside in the Elements
  • Access Control/Badge Experience

    Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet

    Customer Service Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Current drivers license If driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Minimum of one (1) year verifiable and successful supervisory experience in a security-related Industry
  • Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Effective oral and written interpersonal communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
  • Problem solving skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Able to compile, sort, and interpret data
  • Skilled in research, investigation, and in compiling information
  • Able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
  • Attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • College coursework in Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Security Management or related field
  • Prior experience in the fire service, law enforcement, and/or military
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certified
