MAIN FUNCTION:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification. Demonstrated job duties and knowledge listed are sum for the job classification. Knowledge of all duties is to be cross-functional but specific duties are assigned within available personnel.
Prepare and load van trailers – requires lifting of rolls of trailer liner paper, applying corrugated paper to line the inside of trailer, flipping of dock plate, operating dock lock, loading pallets of carbon black into the van trailer. FIBC (flexible intermediate bulk container) or “super sack” loading – requires attaching super sack to loading machine, adjusting calibrated weights to specifications, stenciling the super sacks, sampling and re-sampling per Quality Department requirements. Operate stretch-wrap machine to wrap pallets of carbon black. Prepare Hopper Cars and Hopper Trailers as assigned per written loading documents, including cleaning out residue from previous loads – requires climbing ladders, and performing minor repairs. Requires knowledge of basic hand tools. Loading Hopper Cars and Hopper Trailers, which includes use and lifting of screens and magnets, lifting of loading spouts, pushing of carbon black to fill car or trailer. Apply seals upon completion of loading. Filling and stacking of carbon black bags. 1,000 bags per day required when pulling or stacking. Operate forklift to move pallets of carbon black and trash boxes. Operate spotter truck, to shuttle empty and loaded hopper trailers inside the plant from loading area to parking lot, which includes hooking up air lines and adjusting trailer dolly height. Spotter truck operators are not required to leave Company premises. Operate powered sweeper to maintain cleanliness of Company grounds. Perform rail switches to move cars into and out of the plant to our rail spur, which includes changing rail switch position; pulling knuckle lever to separate railcars; setting/releasing hand brakes. Climbing vertical ladders multiple stories (sometimes numerous times per day) for warehouse belt drop cleaning, warehouse tank switching, gauging, etc. Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards (i.e., proper use of personal protective equipment and proper use of safety devices, such as lock-out, as required); safe operation of all machinery, tools and equipment Actively participate in department/shift/team meetings; participation with safety or quality suggestions CHARACTERISTICS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, college degree preferred
- Valid driver's license required (no suspensions); CDL desirable
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Previous experience with moving equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical abilities preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
