Job Objective:Coordinate and perform tasks related to shipping and receiving of materials in the Distribution Department. Process all related computer transactions and prepare related documentation. Maintain accurate inventory. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse.
Job Qualifications:
One year of warehouse experience. Certification in Hazardous Communications, Lockout/Tagout and Forklift operations (or certification with 30 days). Good communication and team working skills. Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures; computer literate; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to work cooperatively with all plant departments. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. GED Ability to self pace learning including book, web-base and classroom participation.
Performs duties such as loading and unloading trucks; picks orders, counts and clears floor of incoming production, scans pick papers to QC, and packages products for shipping. Performs basic Oracle transactions such as WMS handheld, inventory quantities, locations, cycle counts, and order status. Is familiar with the plant departments and is able to supply the correct quantity and lots of materials to the floor in a timely manner.
Two years experience in either shipping or receiving. Certification at the Entry Level qualification.
The shipper needs to be able to perform all essential procedures of the job with a minimum of supervision. Essential procedures include the order preparation process from moving finished goods to the floor, picking, packaging, QC documentation submission, handheld scanning, labeling, ordering transport, Pitney Bowes processing, pack paper printing, confirmation, truck loading, appropriate customer service/planner communication and driver signoff. In addition the candidate must perform all of the above tasks with a minimum of errors or omissions. Takes the lead position in shipping key customer shipments, IE stages the shipment, orders trucks, and directs the activities to process the documentation, load the truck and perform the quality checks.
The receiver needs to be able to perform all essential procedures of the job with a minimum of supervision. Essential procedures include the coordination of the incoming shipment, unloading trucks, inspection of the goods, sign off the delivery, counting in the order, gaining quality approval, submission of samples, performing receiving and move transactions, labeling product, putting materials into stock, supplying the floor, and appropriate communication with manufacturing, planning and purchasing. Takes the lead position on key vendors to schedule the appointment times, ordering supplies, resolving receiving issues.
Two years experience each in shipping and receiving functions performing at a satisfactory level. Certification at the Mid Level qualification. In addition to performing essential procedures at a competent level, the candidate is able to handle these at an advanced level. This position would be considered the lead for either the shipper or receiver position and would be the trainer of Entry Level and Mid Level associates.
For the shipper this could include working with planning and customer service to schedule consolidated shipment between plants, order trucks for more complicated deliveries, resolve inventory discrepancies, resolve picking and order confirmation errors, identify and correct potential errors in transactions, packaging, and truck loading. Makes use of the backlog report to release orders, expedite past dues, and communicate potential delays in shipment.
For the receiver this could include working with purchasing and planning to schedule rush shipments, plan and coordinate returns, enter and or correct complicated receiving transactions, resolve issuing errors, identify and correct inaccurate inventories, coordinate transfers of goods between plants, and properly process on hold materials. This position would also perform the more complicated and critical physical receiving of materials such resin, binder (bulk truck), and fragile equipment.
Basic knowledge of Oracle software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Loftware, and Groupwise. Forklift experience. Higher education.
