The role is responsible for managing shipping processes, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring accurate inventory tracking for specific jobs. This role reports directly to the Assistant Warehouse Manager.Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping and Logistics Coordination:
- Manage the preparation of company products for shipment.
- Coordinate and track shipments, ensuring proper and timely movement of goods.
- Communicate with carrier representatives to arrange transportation and provide shipping instructions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate the timing of outbound shipments.
- Oversee inventory commitment against sales orders to ensure timely processing.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all shipments.
- Team Supervision:
- Supervise personnel in loading trucks, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Maintain an organized work environment that supports productivity and safety.
- Enforce company policies to ensure all work is performed professionally and ethically.
- Logistics Service Evaluation:
- Assess the performance of logistics service providers.
- Suggest and implement changes to improve logistics service levels.
- Negotiate with providers to optimize shipping and freight solutions.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, freight management, and logistics best practices.
- Proficiency with shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with ERP or advanced warehouse management software.
- Familiarity with lean supply chain principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with import/export procedures and international shipping.
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics.
- At least 3 years in a leadership role within a logistics or warehouse setting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting strict deadlines.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Experience negotiating contracts or agreements with logistics providers.
- Previous experience in the lighting or construction industry.
