Job Summary: Lead mission driven shipping and logistics teams for Sure-Trac® trailer manufacturing and Driving Force Logistics (DFL) trucking company to meet or exceed organizational goals while creating an environment where people can be great at what they do and proud of what they have done while overseeing distribution processes to ensure the transport of our high quality trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure the safety of the shipping and logistics teams through compliance with traffic laws, Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (OSHA) regulations, Department of Transportation regulations, and Novae LLC policies and procedures.
- Strategically manage the movement of trailers throughout North America through building delivery routes, negotiating rates and provider agreements with selected freight carriers, identifying opportunities to optimize revenue, and monitoring the budget. Resolve discrepancies with carriers, as needed.
- Oversee the planning of shipments of trailers out of Sure-Trac® facilities, providing guidance to the shipping teams and leadership.
- Collaborate with other departments across Novae LLC to provide superior value to our dealer network.
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance, set goals, track improvements.
- Participate in continual improvement planning to drive changes to processes, equipment, ergonomics, and environment. Execute action items as requested by leadership.
- Maintain an efficient work force by participating in the screening, interviewing, and selection of shipping and logistics employees.
- Coordinate training of the teams to build skills and help people develop to their fullest potential.
- Provide on-going performance feedback to team members through formal and informal channels, including recognition of a job well done and regular performance evaluation.
- Resolve concerns from the teams using Novae's Guiding Questions.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent professionally demonstrated skills and abilities. Associate's degree and experience will be considered.
- Hands-on trouble shooting skills to find solutions in high pressure, time-pressed situations and implement solutions in area of responsibility.
- Extensive experience with Department of Transportation compliance through multi-truck dispatching and fleet maintenance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced level of influence and negotiation skills
- Teamwork beyond an average level, ability to collaborate with colleagues effectively to achieve mutual goals throughout the organization
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple projects simultaneously, including following through on commitments
