Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our dynamic warehouse team. As a Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will play a crucial role in the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, receiving, and documenting incoming goods, as well as preparing and shipping outgoing orders. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a well-organized and efficient warehouse environment will be essential in ensuring the smooth flow of products in and out of our facility. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of contents.
  • Inspect goods for damages and report discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Document all received items and update inventory records as needed.
  • Safely store received items in their designated locations within the warehouse.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean workspace to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Prepare outgoing orders by picking, packing, and labeling items for shipment.
  • Verify the accuracy of orders and packaging, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Prepare shipping documentation and labels in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies following detailed assembly instructions, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to assemble and disassemble components.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Identify and troubleshoot any assembly issues or defects.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks and other handling equipment as necessary (certification may be required).
  • Load and unload trucks, and move materials around the plant and warehouse.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices for the safe handling of products.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling and transportation.
  • Collaborate with team members, warehouse staff, and other departments to ensure the efficient flow of goods.
  • Communicate any issues, delays, or discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
Commitments and Location:
  • Permanent Full-Time Role Based in Dixon, IL
  • Rotating Day Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00pm / 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Benefits Include: Pay Range of $17.48 - $22.72 Productivity Bonus, paid quarterly. Average 2023 payout was $4/hour. Payouts are based on overall company profitability, and attendance $500 sign on bonus, paid after 90 days of employment Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance 401k with company match Paid Holidays and Vacation Requirements Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and shipping systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (experience preferred).
  • Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or coursework in logistics or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work within a warehouse environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels.
