Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team, specializing in aviation industry logistics. The ideal candidate will manage incoming and outgoing shipments efficiently, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and regulations. This role requires an organized, detail-oriented professional who understands the importance of precision in managing aviation parts and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping & Receiving:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, including aviation parts and materials, ensuring they meet company quality standards.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by packing, labeling, and documenting items according to aviation industry regulations and client requirements.
  • Utilize industry-specific software to log inventory movements and track parts for accurate records.
  • Inspect parts and equipment for compliance with aviation quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, shipments, and receiving documentation, ensuring traceability for all transactions.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels, following all regulatory requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, following proper safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards specific to aviation materials handling.
  • Comply with all safety and regulatory standards, including FAA and DOT regulations.
  • Track and monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock, conducting regular inventory counts.
  • Collaborate with procurement to report low stock items and anticipate future needs.
  • Assist in managing storage and organization of aviation parts to facilitate efficient retrieval.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; additional training in aviation is a plus.
  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving, preferably within the aviation industry.
  • Familiarity with FAA, DOT, and other aviation industry regulations is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using shipping software and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely; forklift certification is a plus.
