Who are we looking for? As a Shipping & Recieving Clerk. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is always looking for ways to strengthen the team through process improvement. The Shipping & Recieving Clerk will excel by efficiently and effectively acting as a member of the broader team, ensuring we can deliver products to our customers with excellence and accuracy, as well as recieve raw materials. What will you be doing?
  • Prepares orders for shipment, moving materials as needed, within the warehouse to the shipping area. Stores received materials in assigned locations in or around the warehouse.
  • Packages and prepares materials for shipment, including special preparation and paperwork required for hazardous materials.
  • Prepares required shipping documents for both domestic and foreign shipments.Affixes appropriate labeling according to the shipment requirements and regulations.
  • Examines ongoing shipments to ensure internal and external specifications are met and procedures are followed.
  • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming goods, authenticating receipt of items against vendor packaging list.
  • Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and/or specifications.
  • Inputs incoming material items into system database using local scanning system.
  • Follows proper procedural guidelines for paperwork as it pertains to receiving materials and completes all associated functions.
  • Maintains accurate shipping records and verifies documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ships packages by mail, messenger, or through identified carriers using all relevant internal and external procedures.
  • Performs electronic system (ERP) transactions to reflect movement of material and products.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies to ensure adequate supplies are on hand to meet shipping needs.
  • Assists in cycle counting of inventory when necessary.
  • Ability to troubleshoot shipping and receiving issues when they arise.
  • Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who are You?
  • Minimum of a High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and at least 2 years of related warehouse/shipping or receiving experience.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with outside logistics companies, vendors, Customer Service, MacDermid affiliates and customers, both verbally and written
  • Proficient with computer use, ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs often, stand for at least 5 hours and operate forklift/hand truck equipment.
  • Previous experience shipping hazardous goods packages/freight via ground, air and ocean.
  • Hazardous goods certification(s): DOT, IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR preferred.
  • Prior JDE or similar ERP system experience.
  • Forklift license preferred.
