In this role, you should be diligent and reliable. Youshould have attention to detail, good literacy skills and the ability to remain calm and productive when handling urgent mail or postage mistakes. Your goal will be to ensure our mail reaches its recipients in good condition.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities to include sorting incoming mail by department, location and category.
- Receiving and unloading: Unloading freight, either manually or with equipment, and verifying the quality and quantity of the order
- Preparing for shipment: Preparing items for shipment, including preparing documents like bills of lading and shipping orders, envelopes and packages
- Maintaining records: Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including inventory records and damage claims
- Stocking and rotating: Stocking shelves and rotating inventory
- Communicating: Communicating with customers, vendors, and other staff involved in the shipment and receipt of products
- Keeping the area clean: Keeping the work area clean and organized
- Delivering Supplies and water to clinical staff
QualificationsSKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Sign for incoming registered or certified mail Monitor/Answer Door bell to permit deliveries, visitors etc.Sort mail by department, location or category (e.g. Bills, notices, personal)Stamp and record date of receipt and sender's nameKeep records of incoming packages, including their weight, return address and descriptionCollect and prepare correspondences to be mailed Correct and mail out misdirected mail Arrange for express delivery when neededDistribute mail to individuals or departmentsDeliver mail at times to UPS facility or Postal OfficeAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, Must be well organized and detail-orientedHave the ability to respond well under pressureCoordinate coffee and lunch delivery from vendors. Promotes a professional, productive and positive work environment Education:High school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's License, reliable vehicle and insuranceExperience: 1-2 years of similar work experience preferably in the medical field.Performance Requirements:
Proven experience as a mail Clerk or Office Clerk Experience with mail sorting and postage meter machines a plus. Basic computer skillsEquipment Operated: Normal office environment.Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in an interior/ office work environmentNo or very limited physical effort requiredNo or very limited exposure to physical risksPhysical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a Mail Tech position such as sitting for six to eight hours per day, walking, bending, and reaching upon occasion. Occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs. of supplies and equipment and helping with patient transport and transfer.
