As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting warehouse management with daily warehouse business activities and planning. This includes optimizing storage of purchased materials, efficient transportation and supply of components to production lines, ensuring accurate shipment of finished goods to customers, efficient storage of stock, future warehouse capacity planning requirements, and tracking and improving the delivery performance to customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Administers and operates the organization's warehouse, including processing packaging and storage of supplies, and materials/equipment
- Accounts for all materials and supplies in the store's facilities and audits goods received at the warehouse
- Oversees receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and related reporting in accordance with established procedures
- Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space
- Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment

Requirements
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Must be comfortable working with computer systems (Microsoft Office, SAP Annex Freight)
- Excellent communication skills required (will interact with logistics providers daily)
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
