The role…
The Shipping and Receiving Manager provides senior-level expertise to the Shipping and Receiving functions.
How you'll make an impact…
- Set and maintain department results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Ensure all employees follow safety requirements, are engaged in safety programs, and abide by company rules and regulations
- Establish and maintain Shipping and Receiving department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including site on-time through production goals, on-time delivery, inventory levels, detention, and expedited costs
- Prepare and control the budget of the Shipping and Receiving department
- Communicate with operations managers on shipping/receiving issues, coordinate physical inventories, develop and enforce inventory control procedures, and manage inventory accuracy.
- Maintain liaison with customer service representatives, sales, and account managers; Ensure all required order communication is fulfilled
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies as well as compliance with ISO 9000 (QMS), 14001(EMS), and 18001 (OSHAS)
What do you bring…
- An associate degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Management is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred
- 5+ years of progressive supervisory experience required in the Shipping & Receiving department, in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
- Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships and aligned partnerships with executives, managers, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects or initiatives that meet or exceed business objectives
- Previous experience with an ERP system is required; SAP preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
- Effectively utilize computer-based applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP)
