About the JobShipping and ReceivingSummaryShipping personnel work in and around the shipping and dock area where pallets of rolls and sheets are staged for packaging. Duties include applying cardboard corners, plastic covering, tape, and using strapping material with a tensioner and crimping device. Pallets are shrink-wrapped using an automated shrink-wrap unit. Personnel will use a scanning device to record material and generate the proper paperwork. A forklift is used to move pallets from each workstation to the staging area for placement into inventory or loading onto trucks.Additionally, a table saw and pneumatic staple gun are used to make wood pallets, handling 4 to 5 pieces of 2x4 or 1x6 lumber from the stack to the saw table, each weighing approximately eight pounds.Shipping personnel will lift and handle items weighing from 8 lbs. to 40 lbs. (30 to 50 times a day) and use force to squeeze the tensioner and crimp sealer up to 250 times a day.Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-3 years of experience working in manufacturing or shipping.
- The successful candidate will be driven, curious, collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, and creative.
- Good written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment across all levels of the company.
