Job Summary
The Shipping Associate I is responsible for processing and preparing products for shipments to customers and suppliers, including the selection of appropriate packaging materials based on customer shipping requirements and methodology.
Reviewing Fralock job travelers, material certs and shipping documents to ensure completeness, accuracy and conformance of all requirements. Advise 2nd shift supervisors of any expected pending carrier pickups. Notify immediate supervisor of any at-risk orders.
Key Responsibilities
* Review of orders prior to shipping for any special instructions related to labeling of
product, certificates of conformance or special packaging requirements.
* Prepare products for shipment, including but not limited to, selection of containers,
labels and boxes to ensure all items are packaged to prevent any damage in transit.
* Review the daily shipping queue regularly throughout the day to ensure on time processing of all customer shipments.
* Shrink wrap, strap, label and prepare pallets for pickup.
* Identify and communicate proactively when orders may be at-risk of not being shipped out on time.
* Deliver urgent shipments that missed carrier pickup deadlines to local shipping hubs as needed.
* Assist others within the departments as necessary.
* Other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Preferred Skills
* Shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Additional related training and education preferred.
* Computer skills with working knowledge of shipping programs including UPS,
FedEx, DHL and MRP/ERP software systems.
Experience Requirements
* 1 year of shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Valid driver's license and insurance.
* Acceptable driving record.
Education Requirements
High School diploma, GED or five (3) years' work experience.
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
* Able to spend the day standing, bending, walking, lifting, etc.
* Requires using hands to lift boxes, handle tools or controls.??
