We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.JOB DESCRIPTION - SHIPPING CLERK JOB SUMMARYThe Shipping Clerk is responsible for material handling, shipping and other supply chain activities. The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may expand to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.JOB FUNCTIONS Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility In Manage the unloading/loading verification of incoming/outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality. Retrieve Bill of Lading and packing list from all incoming product and process timely. Support production schedules, orders, requests for materials or other stock items in order of priority, due date, and material availability. Ensure items received are delivered and put away daily. Ensure material storage areas and receiving area are kept clean from debris and trash Retrieve incoming orders and prepare requested sample boxes for shipment Distribute requested items to production line in an accurate and timely fashion as needed. Improve and maintain plant and outside yard 5S/Safety Improve and maintain visual management. Review Kanban and provide feedback once items reach min levels Assist with yearly Physical Inventory Perform internal and some external expediting. Other duties as requestedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders and shipping information. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Must possess a high school diploma or GED One-year related work experience preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Manufacturing Experience (Automated/manual production lines) Continuous Improvement Experience Ability to be Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Basic Computer skills, advanced skills will be developedESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to: Complete repetitive movements such as typing Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable Complete repetitive movements Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection) Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds Ability to move or traverse about the facilities Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk or crawl Must be able to occasionally climb, balance or smell Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, safety glasses, or shield, safety toe shoes, hi-vis clothing and hardhat protection)This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
