JOB TITLE: Shipping Clerk CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for reviewing packing lists and ensuring correct items are shipped out to customers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Reports to: Production Manager/Shipping Supervisor
Supervises: Has no supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Filling customer orders according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Using computer hardware and software to generate labels and maintain equipment.
* Maintaining and organizing adequate shipping supplies.
* Ensuring that products processed for shipping are delegated to correct courier.
* Assisting in other areas as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
* Packing product according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
* Creating labels for product and helping with label inventor accuracy
* Accurately check in packages and delivery to correct areas in the building
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* High School degree or equivalent
* Must possess thorough knowledge of all shipping procedures.
* Must be in good physical condition.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
* Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, and presentation) with all levels of the organization.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
