Work Hours: 40-50 hours per weekJob Summary:The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing the shipment of all products. This includes preparing and processing outgoing shipments, verifying and recording shipping information, and ensuring that all shipments are accurately and efficiently dispatched.Key Responsibilities Prepare Shipments:o Arrange for transportation, schedule deliveries, and prepare all necessary shipping documentation. Verify Shipments:o Inspect and verify the quantity and quality of items being shipped.o Compare identifying information and counts, weigh or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.o Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
- verifying code dates, temperatures, trailer numbers, shipping numbers and customer information on completed paperwork.
Inventory / Clerical Management:o Maintain accurate records of all inventory and stock.o Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that shipments are accurate and timely.
- Updating Share Drive & Tracker reports
- Complete Add/ Cut Reports
Customer Service:o Communicate with customers regarding shipping issues or discrepancies.o Resolve customer complaints and answer inquiries about shipping policies and procedures.
- Input & Invoice Customer Orders
- Receive PO's and inbound shipments
- Communicate with sales and delivery, cooler department and others as needed.
Perform other duties as assignedQualifications: Education:o High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may prefer additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management. Experience:o Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field.o Familiarity with shipping software, logistics management, and carrier systems. Skills:o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.o Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.o Proficient in using computers and shipping-related software.o Excellent communication and customer service skills.o Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as needed.Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment. May involve lifting heavy packages, operating forklifts, and other machinery. Hours may vary, and overtime may be required during peak shipping periods.Additional Duties: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
