Location: Greensboro,NC, USA
The Shipping Clerk is primarily responsible for conducting day-to-day transactions to facilitate timely and accurate shipments according to customer requirements. The Clerk will maintain compliance of standard procedures in assigned areas which can include - Receiving, Shipping, Returns, and Detention. In this position, the clerk will be responsible for creating and managing inventory reports to be utilized in a manufacturing environment. The clerk will support the shipping activities for domestic and export sales orders.
This position will be based out of Gilbarco Veeder-Root's (the Company ) corporate headquarters in Greensboro, NC; supporting the global operations function of Gilbarco, North America.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform various inventory movement transactions within manufacturing systems; Receiving, Shipping, interplant transfers
* Issue MOs to production and warehouse
* Determine shipping methods for materials
* Assemble reports to assess area performance
* Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
* Maintain shipping records and record shipping records such as weight, charges, space availability, and accounting
* Maintain good housekeeping and organization of assigned area
* Work with key personnel to implement process improvements. Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings to improve warehouse / materials metrics
* Work with Buyer/Planners, Suppliers, A/P, Customer Service and other Warehouse personnel to resolve discrepancies
* Assist with Physical Inventory
* Work closely with Supervisor and Focus Factory Manager to ensure schedule adherence, and maintain the timeliness of order processing and prompt shipment of orders
* Facilitate and coordinate the activities in shipping area and pack out, inclusive of directing hourly personnel to assemble and pack out orders as necessary
* Ensure transactions are done accordingly across multiple MRP systems
* Facilitating freight forwarding export orders to support shipping execution
* Perform other duties as required by business needs

WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications)
* Minimum 2yrs experience in a warehouse/operations environment (required)
* Associates degree
* Knowledge of Lean principles (preferred)
* Ability to work with extensive data, summarize it, draw conclusions, and communicate it to all levels within the organization
* PC literate with experience in MS Excel
* Working knowledge ERP/MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, or AX
* Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
* Knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
