The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the shipment of products to customers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with shipping regulations. This role requires strong communication skills and computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth shipping operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the shipment of orders including picking & packing, arranging transportation, scheduling pickups, and preparing shipping documentation such as bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Build and prepare truck shipments using powered industrial lift trucks and packaging / wrapping machinery.
- Serve as one of the points of contact for internal teams and shipping carriers regarding shipping-related inquiries, updates, and issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, including tracking information, shipping manifests, and delivery confirmations.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and requirements, including hazardous materials handling, customs documentation, and safety regulations.
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve shipping-related issues, such as delivery delays, damaged shipments, or incorrect orders, in a timely and effective manner.
- Metering packages for both domestic and international shipments via FedEx, UPS and other carriers.
- Provide excellent internal customer service by addressing inquiries, tracking shipments, and resolving shipping-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or GED required
- 1 year experience in a comparable role required, preferably with a chemical company
- Microsoft Office experience with Excel & Outlook
- Experience with ERP or shipping software
- Tow motor experience and license required
- International shipping experience required
- Hazardous material training (DOT/ IATA) required
- Experienced working with FedEx, UPS, LTL Carriers, and freight forwarders
- Ability to lift & move up to 50 pounds routinely
