NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator to coordinate activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the establishment. Ensures that Good Manufacturing Practices Policies (GMP's), Safety and Health Hazard Analysis, and Critical Control (HACCP) procedures are always followed. This role will be responsible for running the pick plan and determining picking locations for orders based on customer specifications at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.For additional information, please see our About Us video, Our Story - Neil Jones Food CompanyKey Responsibilities:
- Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. Ensures that the finished product is shipped in accordance with QC specifications.
- Runs the pick plan and determines picking locations for orders based on customer specifications.
- Physically inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Staffs the truck desk, including preparing BOL, scheduling shipping appointments, dispatching trucks, maintaining appointment log, sending proper paperwork to customers, and creating any necessary labels for shipments.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- One year of related experience in warehouse or distribution center facility.
- Requires excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and work any assigned shift, extended hours, and weekends during the pack season, typically late June to October.
Compensation: The wage range is $16.00 - $19.18, based on experience and qualifications.Benefits:
