Job Description:
MAIN FUNCTION •Assists the Shipping Superintendent in coordinating and directing the daily activities in the shipping department. •Assign loading paperwork directly to shipping personnel. •Inspect shipping and packaging equipment as needed. •Ensure that orders are prepared in accordance with specified procedures. •Responsible for the administrative functions in the shipping department, releasing orders, preparing reports, and contacting carriers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Assisting in supervising, training, and developing shipping department personnel to provide quality workmanship, knowledge of the plant quality system, and a strong safety and training program. •Scheduling and ordering of oil rail cars with transportation department. •Creation of BOL and packing slips for shipment. •Update load and order status with carriers and Superintendent. •Monitor the quality system, ensuring that all loading procedures are current, up to date and are being followed by the employees. •Assist in scheduling daily loading activities using all resources available. •Direct packaging, identification, and shipping of product to ensure the material is received in good condition. •Develop ongoing relationships with customer service and suppliers. •Arrange the day-to-day record keeping and administrative functions for shipping employees, absenteeism, vacation schedules, work schedules, overtime records and accident reports. •Arrange shipping department day-to-day scheduling for equipment calibrations, work orders, and maintenance and repair. •Assist in material management and inventory. •Assure continued compliance and development of ISO 9001:2000 registration. •Provide leadership for continued improvement in efficiency and quality. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Experience with emphasis in business, logistics, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment preferred.
  • Microsoft D365 experience preferred.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Effective communicator, both oral and written
