Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product. Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities Conduct pre-shift meetings. Communicate changes and daily workload. Analyze head count for workload and make changes as necessary. Monitor doors: prep and close doors by following the inbound and outbound procedures. Work closely with the office staff to ensure the workflow to the floor is consistent. Monitor pallet truck deliveries ensuring the trailers are unloaded and reloaded with repair pallets in a timely fashion. Verify Hot List loads: see Hot List Procedure. Monitor the floor for safety concerns or infractions and act appropriately. Operate a forklift in a safe and productive manner. Assist the operators and perform daily tasks when not performing lead duties. Ensure warehouse is organized, clean, damages are taken care of, and pallets are off the floor and placed into bins. Training and progressive training of forklift operators. Promote teamwork within your team and between teams by communicating in a positive and pleasant manner. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment is preferred. Strong Leadership and Inter-Personal skills are required. The successful completion of a Powered Industrial Truck training program is required. The ability to use standard office technology such as a computer, copier/fax machine, and phone system. High school diploma or G.E.D or an equivalent combination of education and experience Effectively read, write and speak English. Strong math and configuration is necessary Successful completion of Michael Foods Power Industrial Truck program. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to analyze situations and make the best decision which benefits the company without jeopardizing the health and well-being of the employee. All distribution operators will be provided with MFI approved P.I.T. training /certification at the start of employment.
