We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Consulting Shipping Lead to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. The successful candidate will orchestrate all aspects of the shipping process, including the planning, coordination and execution of all shipping operations. This is an opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals, engage with multiple facets of the business, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all shipping operations, ensuring that all products are shipped and delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Utilize SAP software to track, check, prioritize and route orders and shipments.
- Develop and implement shipping procedures and protocols to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with various departments, including production and sales, to forecast needs and plan for peak times.
- Monitor and report on shipping costs, timelines, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of shipping staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise in the shipping process, implementing effective solutions.
- Use advanced Excel skills to analyze shipping data, create reports, and provide insights for decision-making.
- Provide consultation and advice on improving shipping operations and reducing costs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping lead or similar role in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to improving processes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and legal requirements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
