We are looking for a Shipping Freight Handler (Load) who will bring support, organization and above all else, personality to our team. It is important to us that this person has the energy and desire to manage the execution of all activities that are deemed necessary to the position.
Pay: $17(16.50 base + $.50 equipment) Shift Diff: $.55 $.25 added to pay once you get through 60-days probationary period. The notable responsibilities of the Shipping Freight Handler (Load) are:
- To load outbound trailers with the appropriate cartons to assure proper and timely delivery of orders
- Perform keyboard transactions to operate core systems, such as Mandate
- Operations of pallet rider
- Use of telescopic conveyor to load outbound trailers
- Load cartons/pallets into trailers following procedures
- Monitor Master Group Assignment function for workload information
- Palletize and de-palletize cartons as needed
- Place broken pallets in designated area
- Close and seal trailer doors
- Handle exceptions following procedures
- Maintain established expectancy and accuracy goals
What the Shipping Freight Handler (Load) already has:
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous warehouse experience is a HUGE BONUS
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, or
- Ability to use a handheld scanner, or
- Experience driving a pallet rider and/or fork truck
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Excellent number correlation
- Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
- Working knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Extremely strong customer service orientation and the ability to multi-task; with the desire to work in a very fast paced environment and an ability to not become frustrated with last minute changes
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong team orientation
- Excellent discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy
- Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs quickly
- Must demonstrate an energetic, positive, helpful demeanor and a passion and interest in LS & Co.
