Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Must be forklift and crane operation qualified. Demonstrate safe, effective operation.

* Using the preferred shipping/receiving software will:

* Prepare shipping documents (i.e. BOL's, shippers, load sheets, etc.)

* Prepare bar codelabels for shipments and scans product for verification of load against load sheet as required.

* Pull EDI releases daily. Interprets release information and communicates release information via appropriate methods such as spreadsheets, email, etc. for production and inventory control maintenance

* Send ASN's to customers within customer's acceptable time window.

* Process materials received paperwork according to procedures.

* Stage and load materials into trucks or railcars either dropped or live loaded, sometimes without advance notice.

* Perform quality inspection of the parts as required.

* Obtain signatures from truck drivers as required.

* Safely receive in and unloads materials and or racks.

* Perform count and quality inspections and notify appropriate personnel as required.

* Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on containers.

* Convey material from storage or work sites to designated area to support production, shipping and receiving.

* Clean work area, machines and equipment as required.

* Perform daily preventative maintenance checks and production inspection checks as required.

* Interact and communicate daily with other shift's employees, supervisors and management to ensure that all shipping requirements are met.

* Have efficient time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years personal computer skills in a Windows environment, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software. One to three months related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to safely and effectively operate material handling equipment including crane and forklift within orientation period. Prior shipping and receiving experience is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write effective correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, clients, suppliers, truck drivers and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and multiply and divide. Ability to use the aforementioned skills using units of US dollars, weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to use micrometers and dial calipers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written instructions. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The employee must work all scheduled overtime and emergencies and have the flexibility to work various shift hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving parts. The employee may be exposed to electromagnetic fields, risk of electric shock and vibration. Employee may be subject to temperature extremes for extended periods of time.
