Job Title: Shipping, Receiving, and Facilities Clerk

Job Description:
* The Shipping, Receiving, and Facilities Clerk for the Chemistry Department plays an integral role in the daily functions of our research efforts. Your daily responsibilities will involve regular interaction with faculty, staff, and grad students immersed in this ground-breaking research throughout our department. The person hired will be processing hazardous chemicals, live material, as well as expensive and highly-sensitive equipment vital to the various labs in Chemistry. In addition, you will offer support to the Fisher Store with their deliveries, while working closely with the maintenance shop in support of services provided to the department.
What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Required:
* High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE)
* Three (3) years of experience in shipping and receiving required
Preferred:
* Knowledge of DOT and IATA regulations for hazardous material shipments
Skills Needed:
* Good oral and written communication skills, positive attitude, desires to be part of a team, attention to detail, self-motivated and takes initiative, problem solving
* Organizational skills are highly preferred to provide efficient customer service
* Must be able to read and comprehend technical material, including MSD Sheets related to chemical items
* Ability to operate hand trucks, cylinder carts and other lifting equipment necessary to perform duties
* Must be able to pass the hazardous shipment training
* Work efficiently without direct supervision
* Need to pass annual respirator testing for safety requirements. Lift up to 100 pounds
